Jason P. Conheeney BCMA, B.Sc. (Hons) MArborA.

Jason P. Conheeney, B.Sc. (Hons) in Arboriculture and an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, is the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at Conheeney-Group Arboricultural Consultancy, which he founded in early 2023. With over 25 years of experience in arboriculture and urban forestry, Jason has held significant roles in both the public and private sectors in the UK and USA.
During his time as Director of Forestry in Brooklyn, New York, Jason developed strong expertise in identifying and managing invasive tree pests and diseases, including Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis), Asian Longhorn Beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis), Oak Wilt Disease (Bretziella fagacearum), Dutch Elm Disease (Ophiostoma novo-ulmi), and Bacterial Leaf Scorch (Xylella fastidiosa). During his tenure, the Asian Longhorn Beetle was declared eradicated in Brooklyn. He has conducted numerous tree decay diagnostic examinations using advanced methods such as sonic tomography and resistance drilling, positioning him as a leading consultant in this field in the UK.
In the USA, Jason collaborated with Dr. Robert Blanchette of the University of Minnesota, sending Ganoderma samples for DNA analysis, which led to the identification of Ganoderma sessile in urban areas of NYC and increased understanding of its implications for tree health.
Jason is passionate about tree preservation and maintenance, especially veteran and ancient specimens. His work focuses on providing high-quality, affordable arboricultural consultancy services, including tree risk assessments, Arboricultural impact assessments, and BS5837 tree planning surveys for both private and public clients. He actively educates the public and professionals about the importance of tree management and regularly shares insights into the latest Arboricultural developments.
